Jesper Juul

Founder of familylab

Jesper Juul (1948-2019) was a family therapist, father and a grandfather. He was the author of numerous books, a renowned international public speaker and founder of familylab – an organization committed to inspire parents to find new and healthier ways to become a successful family and professionals to create more profound relationships with children and youth in their care.

Jesper Juul has for many years – and in a wide range of settings – been working with children and young people with behavior difficulties, pedagogical development in schools and kindergartens and also with groups of single mothers and parentgroups.

He was the director of the Kempler Institute of Scandinavia, Centre for family and post graduate education from 1979 until 2004. In addition to this, Jesper Juul engaged himself, on a voluntary basis, in the work with children, young people and families in refugee camps during the war in the former Yugoslavia, where he also provided counselling and post graduate education to local professionals.

From 2006 until his death, Jesper Juul has devoted his time and energy to the continued growth of familylab.
